Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the DearRecruiter Chrome extension and website at getdearrecruiter.com (together, the "Service"), operated by DearRecruiter ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to do so. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not install or use the Service.

2. The Service

DearRecruiter is a tool that helps you apply to hiring posts and jobs on LinkedIn. When you open a hiring post or job listing and click Apply, the Service reads it and your resume to draft a personalized application email, which you can review, edit, and send from your connected Gmail account.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and of legal working age to use the Service. By using it, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate and your own.

4. Accounts & connections

The Service requires you to connect a Google (Gmail) account to send emails. DearRecruiter requests send-only Gmail permission — the gmail.send scope, and no other Gmail permission: it can send the emails you approve but cannot read or access your inbox, messages, contacts, or settings. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your accounts and for all activity that occurs through your use of the Service. You may disconnect your Gmail account or uninstall the extension at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Send spam, bulk unsolicited messages, or harassing, deceptive, or unlawful content;
• Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or experience;
• Violate the terms, policies, or rate limits of LinkedIn, Google/Gmail, or any other third party;
• Infringe the rights of others or violate any applicable law or regulation;
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of the Service complies with the terms of LinkedIn and Google, which are independent platforms not operated by us.

6. Your content & responsibility

You retain ownership of your resume, details, and the emails you send. You are responsible for reviewing every draft before sending and for the content and consequences of any message sent through your account. DearRecruiter does not send any email without your explicit approval.

What we store. Your résumé and the details you enter stay on your device. On our servers we store only your account (sign-in and sending email), your plan & billing status, and usage events linked to your account (counts and timings only) — never your résumé, your entered details, or the content of your emails. Card details are handled by our payment provider, not us. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.

7. AI-generated content

Drafts are generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies or wording that doesn't fit your situation. They are provided as a starting point. You must review and edit each draft before sending, and you are responsible for its final content.

8. Third-party services

The Service interacts with third-party platforms including LinkedIn, Google/Gmail, and our AI provider. Your use of those platforms is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of third-party services.

9. Plans, credits & fees

Some features of the Service are paid. Where fees apply, the price and what you receive will be presented to you before you purchase. Payments are processed by our payment provider as merchant of record. Unless required by law or stated otherwise in our Refund Policy, fees are non-refundable. We may change pricing on a prospective basis with reasonable notice.

Application credits. Paid plans are sold as one-time packs of application credits. One credit corresponds to one AI-drafted application email, and a credit is consumed only when a draft is successfully generated for you. Credits do not expire and are redeemable for as long as the Service operates. Credits are a prepayment for use of the Service — not a stored monetary balance or wallet — and are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash (except as described below or where required by law).

Service discontinuation. If we discontinue the Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice, during which your unused credits remain fully redeemable. Credits unredeemed after the notice period lapse. Purchases made within the 60 days before the discontinuation announcement are eligible for a pro-rata refund of unused credits on request.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and content (excluding your own content), is owned by DearRecruiter and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that using it will result in interviews, responses, or job offers.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DearRecruiter will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, opportunities, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that could harm others or the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
